What do you write?
Get a piece of paper, write down everything that you have to do, you want to do, any questions, concerns, private, business, everything.
When you feel you've 'dumped' all your thoughts out, organize them into categories. They can be personal vs business, to dos and "things to consider". Whatever makes sense to you.
Weed out the items you can act upon and create a to do list, organized by priority.
The items you need to consider or discuss. Now's a good time. Pick up the phone to talk to your partner about that thing you've been wanting to talk about. Weigh the pros and cons of the item you are considering.
What to brainstorm about:
Pretty self explanatory. If you don't need it anymore, chuck it. Put your downloads in the right places. Clean your computer. Obviously, this can only done if you still have access to the computer.
Clean your desk, file those papers. Might even be time to check out those newsletters and do the books (if you keep them offline).
Things to read:
Downloaded or bought apps but didn't have time to try? If you still have access to the computer, do it now.
Have you purchased courses that you downloaded? I have hours upon hours of video courses on my computer, waiting for me to consume them. Chances are, you do too.
Don’t let your money go to waste. Internet down time is perfect for learning.
One of the hardest things about outsourcing is training. That's why you need to document your system. How you do things. The problem is, documenting your process takes a lot of time and therefore most ignore it. Big mistake. This can cut down your training process, mistakes and make your outsourcing experience so much better.
If you have no access to the computer and your process is computer related, draft an outline. You probably know what to do in your sleep. You can always add screen shots or flesh out the process later.
Not only should you document your systems now, brainstorm what else your assistant can help you do.
Take a look at your calendar and the remaining days. Any holidays coming? What promotion can you work in? No holidays? How about creating weekend specials or just put together an irresistible deal for the next month or more.
While you are at it, write up those promotional emails and copy for ads and social media promotions.
